Our friendly and experienced Practice Nurses are available by appointment. General duties include taking blood tests (if you are unable to go to the hospital), ear syringing, treating minor injuries, dressings and ECGs. They can advise on all health issues and also run clinics for cervical smears, blood pressure, asthma, diabetes, coronary heart disease, infant and adult immunisation and travel vaccination advice. Each day you will be offered the option of being seen in the acute assessment clinic by a specialist Nurse who can deal with most minor illnesses; she is supported at all times by a GP.
The District Nurses
Our multi-skilled team of District Nurses are trained in providing quality nursing care in the home. The service is available to those who are housebound. The District Nurses give advice and support to patients and carers and help them remain independent. They can be contacted by leaving a message on their answerphone 427882 or by leaving a message with the reception staff.

The Health Visitors
Our Health visitors can be contacted on their telephone number 428218. The Health Visitors organise child development, immunisation clinics and health promotion advice, as well as being able to advise on many social problems encountered in the community affecting all ages.

The Community Midwife
The Community Midwife is available to provide health care, advice and support during pregnancy, birth and care of the mother and baby within the family home. She can also advise on pre-conception healthcare. The Midwife works in close co-operation with the Doctors, Health Visitor and the local maternity units and runs a clinic at the Surgery on Tuesday mornings.
