Medical Museum

Over the last few years we have established a Medical Museum housed in three large display cabinets located in the Surgery waiting room. Items include a Macaura blood circulator, violet ray generator, bladder stones, gallstones, an ancient hearing aid and a digital hearing aid, examples of various joint replacements, tuberculin glass syringes, early dental and anaesthetic equipment and numerous other items kindly donated by patients.

It has proved educational and popular while patients wait for their appointments and the children seem to particularly appreciate some of the more gruesome exhibits.

We believe our surgery museum is probably unique in Primary Care and have forged an invaluable resource link with the Science Museum in London and the History Section of the Royal Society of Medicine.
