Welcome to Southbourne Surgery

As of the 24th June 2013, the times of the walk in Blood Pressure Clinic will be changing to Monday 1pm-1.30pm
Wednesday 1pm-1.30pm
Friday 5.30pm-6pm

It is our intention that our traditional family style of General Practice, first established in 1948 will continue in our purpose built surgery which has been designed and constructed for the care and welfare of our patients.

There are five family docotrs that work in partnership at the surgery and two associate doctors. As a Training Practice, we usually have a GP Registrar and sometimes Medical Students. You may see any doctor if your own doctor is not available but it is preferred that you keep to the doctor of your choice to assist with continuity of care.
Our Clinical Team includes Practice Nurses, District Nurses, Health Visitors, Physiotherapists and a Counsellor.

The Practice Manager is Melva Clifford who is responsible for the running of the Practice and is available during normal office hours to discuss any suggestions, which may help to improve our service to you. We have a skilled team of reception and administrative staff who will be your link with the medical and nursing staff at the surgery. They work hard making appointments, home visits, organising repeat prescriptions, assisting with any queries that you may have and dealing with correspondence to and from other agencies.

Are you a Carer?
You and the person that you care for may be entitled to practical help and support. Please contact the surgery Carers Lead for information on how to register with the practice as a Carer, and we can send you information on how to contact the Social Services Department to see if you are entitled to a Social Services Care assessment. This is a free service. The Assessment gives you advice and information. For more information please go to Carers Direct
